Hello and Welcome to my Blog!

This is where you can find out a little more about me and what I can do for you!

I am a Web Developer, and I have already developed three web sites and working on two others. If you need a web site, contact me today!

I am also a Personal Trainer who knows what losing weight and sticking to it really means. I have helped myself do exactly that and have lost over 40 pounds.

I am with Toastmasters International, in District 33 and District 52.

In District 33, I am in three clubs. Simi Valley Toastmasters, club #3533, The Supper Club, #6089 and Au Jus, #879.

Check us out at: http://www.toastmasters.og

#879 is an advanced club which can help everyone develop their skills even further than where they are at currently.

In District 52, my husband and I are with Northridge Toastmasters and that club meets twice a month at a restaurant.

Every Toastmasters club shares the same mission, clearly defined in the following mission statement:

"The mission of a Toastmasters club is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every individual member has the opportunity to develop oral communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth."

Through this mission, each Toastmaster gains a clear understanding of the club's purpose, and the organization as a whole benefits from a shared set of values and goals.

    Values

"Toastmasters International’s core values are integrity, dedication to excellence, service to the member and respect for the individual. These are values worthy of a great organization, and we believe we should incorporate them as anchor points in every decision we make. The Supper Club Toastmasters meeting

Toastmasters is a unique organization, in which every member gets a chance to improve in themselves.
The mission of a Toastmasters club is:
The mission of a Toastmasters club is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every individual member has the opportunity to develop oral communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth.
Through this mission, each Toastmaster gains a clear understanding of the club's purpose, and the organization as a whole benefits from a shared set of values and goals.
The vision of Toastmasters International is:
Toastmasters International empowers people to achieve their full potential and realize their dreams. Through our member clubs, people throughout the world can improve their communication and leadership skills, and find the courage to change.
    Toastmasters International Values:
Toastmasters International’s core values are integrity, dedication to excellence, service to the member and respect for the individual. These are values worthy of a great organization, and we believe we should incorporate them as anchor points in every decision we make. Our core values provide us with a means of not only guiding but also evaluating our operations, our planning and our vision for the future.
The Aims Of The Supper Club of Simi Valley, Moorpark, Thousand Oaks and Ventura
The aims of our Club are to help our members to:
    • Speak from the diaphragm
    • Improve their abilities to communicate effectively
    • Listen and read analytically
    • Undergo leadership training
    • Appear before audiences and to creditably express their thoughts
    • Obtain fair and constructive evaluation of their efforts toward self-improvement
    • Have access to educational materials and opportunities which will give them skill and experience in the preparation and delivery of speeches
    • Increase their knowledge of the rules of parliamentary procedure and their skills in conducting meetings, particularly in group discussions
    You - The Member
Toastmasters International is dedicated to assisting individual members in their personal development through the art of listening, thinking and speaking.
To make the most of this opportunity, come to meetings and give apologies when you cannot. Participate and offer your enthusiasm, other members will be encouraged by your interest. Give the same support that you would like to receive. Show appreciation and applaud when appropriate.
Toastmasters is a self-help program, where you learn by participation. As the great Roman statesman Cicero said: “the skill to do comes from doing.” Don’t wait for the Vice President Education to schedule you, volunteer for a role or to give a prepared speech. Other members want you to succeed and will be supportive.
    A Typical Meeting
Our meetings open with a call to order by the Sergeant at Arms, who opens the meeting. The Sergeant at Arms, once he/she opens the meeting, calls forward the President of the club. The President, then calls upon a member to inspire the meeting with a short Inspiration.
Then, the Toastmaster will make any changes to the program for the night.
    The Toastmaster
Once the changes have been made, the meeting begins. At the Supper Club meeting, the Toastmaster starts the meeting, by calling on the speakers in order of their presentations. After the formal speeches comes the impromptu part.
    Table Topics
Table Topics (or impromptu speaking) follows. The Toastmaster introduces the Table Topics Master for the night. The Table Topics Master: prepares a set of short questions designed to stimulate and develop impromptu speaking skills. Usually the topic is announced first, in the form of a question and then the respondent’s name is called where he or she is asked to give a mini speech regarding the topic in the form of an answer. These mini speeches range from 1 to 2 minutes and are evaluated at the end of the meeting by choosing the winner of that particular part of the meeting.
After all prepared speeches have concluded, we move into the speech evaluations.
The final part of the evening is an overall evaluation of the program by the General Evaluator and their helpers.
The evening concludes with the presentation of awards by the awards master, who then will call back up the President of the club to conclude with the meeting, make any general comments, ask guests for comments and make any other announcements that there might be for the club, area, division, or district.
We meet on the fourth Friday at a different restaurant every month.
Our next meeting will be held on Friday, August 28, 2009. The Toastmaster will find the restaurant, make a flyer and fill the roles. This will teach the lead of that particular meeting how to organize a special event.
Our club is open to all interested people.
The next meeting date is always displayed at the top of every page of this web site.

    PR/Marketing Consultant

For the past 9 years, Linda has been a top notch Marketing/PR Consultant with extensive experience in raising capital and obtaining donations for nonprofit organizations, such as the Multiple Sclerosis Society and the Diabetes Association. She possesses strong communication skills due to her many years of involvement and dedication to Toastmasters International and her fund-raising skills. Being in Toastmasters, she has gained the confidence and speaking skills necessary to be an effective Marketing and Public Relations Consultant. Her passion is raising money for people less fortunate than herself, and this line of business is what drives her! Nine years ago, she began raising money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society because of a close friend who is afflicted with the disease. She had no idea at that time, that this disease would lead her to her passion of fund-raising. Through this experience with this wonderful organization, she began raising money for other nonprofit organizations and has found that she truly enjoys this business. She knew that she had to continue pursuing this field so she went back to school and she just recently received her Bachelors degree in Business/Communication.

She is a highly driven individual who relishes a challenge and seeks them out whenever possible. She is a self-motivated, energetic individual who is looking to advance in her career. She is able to add value to an organization by demonstrating a genuine desire to accomplish critical goals and objectives. She can play a key role in researching and writing grant proposals, developing marketing strategies, and planning of the smallest, to the most extravagant events. She is skilled at managing multiple events successfully, recruiting volunteers to assist with events, and juggling volunteers and issues as they arise during the events.

She is also experienced in the field of web page development, the development of marketing materials, and the maintenance of databases.

She is an accomplished Public Relations Specialist who has raised over $100,000 in the past 9 years as a volunteer for various non - profit organizations.
She takes pride in helping her friends by introducing everyone to the best products she can find, such as Shaklee.
